Helping hands needed

Jane is one of Gavin's oldest friends. They met in Kindergarten, and they have been buddies ever since. As physically different as they are, they are also kindred spirits.  They are both bright, creative, sensitive, and funny. Jane has SMA- Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She uses a wheelchair to get around, a suctioning device to clear her airways every twenty minutes or so, feeding tubes for nourishment, and a computer to help her communicate. She still manages to get good grades, spend time with her friends, make cupcakes, and celebrate EVERYTHING.  Unfortunately,  her inability to move from the SMA, something you and I never think about, has caused her spine to develop scoliosis. Surgery is not an option for her. Her thirteenth birthday is in two weeks, and she needs something really big this year: a therapy tub set up for movement therapy.

Jane's mom has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise the $25,000 needed to get Jane what she needs.  Obviously, this is a pretty hefty sum, but it would help keep Jane healthy, happy, and continuing to thrive.  It would also be a pretty awesome 13th birthday gift for a girl who everyday manages to smile, be happy, and live a very full life while acing challenges most of us will never have to face.

I'm asking you, my wonderful readers, to help get Jane her tub.  In it's first few days, Jane's friends and family have raised $5,500, but there is still a long way to go.  If you can give anything, even five dollars, it would help to keep this sweetheart healthy and happy.  You can read about Jane here and make a donation:
