Tulip trees

As I dropped the little guy off at school this morning, I cam e around a curve in the road and spied the first pink and white blooms of a tulip tree.  They are some of the most beautiful and showy blooms of the Bay Area spring, and I always look forward to seeing them.  This morning, they seemed to hover without support as the branches of the tree blend well with the color of new concrete and the bare trunks and branches of the the neighboring trees. It's another of those magic moments that we sometimes get unexpectedly.

This difficult winter is ending, and even the trees know it.  I am so grateful. I'd like to plant some new seed, both the literal and figurative ones, but spring weather tends to be a requirement for both in my life.
