The gratitude challenge

I got tagged in the gratitude challenge that is going around on Facebook,  My dear friend, David, decided I should take part.  I am torn between not driving my friends and family crazy and challenging people to practice a little gratitude.

I'm going to change the game a bit. I will post on this blog's Facebook page for seven days, but I will invite everyone in my life to express their gratitude as they see fit. Nobody is on the hook for anything, and I'm still playing by the rules, sort of.

When you start being purposefully grateful, it can be hard, especially when things are rough.  i find it's easiest to to start with something small.  Today, I am grateful for the small amount of rain that fell on this drought stricken area. I am grateful to my husband for all of his hard work in taking care of the kids and I. I am grateful for the farmer who grew the roses I have been buying all summer at the Farmer's Market.  The list is short. It's heartfelt, and it only took me about five minutes to think of.  Tomorrow will be easier.  The more gratitude you show and embrace, the easier it is to connect with that feeling.

I hope you can all find something to be grateful for today. It's a great way to feel more connected to the world and it has proven (and in very scientific way) benefit to our well being.  Let me know what you are grateful for.

  1. I'm grateful for all the good cantaloupes we had this summer. That's easy. Lol

  2. Whatever makes you happier and more grateful, Ila! :)
